RESEARCH PROJECTS
Cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in the developed world, affecting 1 in 1,000 people every year. It is a major emergency with a low survival rate worldwide, very often less than 10%. Knowledge of the epidemiology and causes of cardiac arrest, the prevention and prediction of events, and high-quality treatment, both pre-hospital and in-hospital, are essential to increase survival.
Also patients' evaluation and support are essential to improve the quality of life after cardiac arrest ( REVIVE project ).
These are the pillars on which our research is based.
Much work has been done, but there are still many unansattled questions about cardiac arrest. -
